The Point

Terms of Service

Last updated October 17, 2026

The short version

  • The Point is for adults 18 and older, and for now is open to new members in the United States only.
  • The journey guide is an AI. It can be wrong, and it isn't therapy or professional advice.
  • What you write is yours. We use it to run the app, and only in the other ways you choose.
  • In Talk, be kind. No harassment, selling or explicit content. We can remove people who break the rules.
  • This is an early version. Features may change or have problems.
  • Free is free. The full journey is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, renews automatically, and you can cancel any time in My Plan. Your first purchase comes with a 14-day refund window.
  • These Terms are governed by Utah law.

The full Terms below are what count. Please read them.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and The Point Collective, LLC ("The Point," "we," "us"). They cover The Point - Life Planner app and website, including the journey guide, My Goals, Base Camp and Talk (together, the "app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Who can use the app

  • You must be at least 18 years old. The app is not meant for anyone younger, and we will close accounts we learn belong to someone under 18.
  • For now, new accounts can only be created in the United States. If you already have an account, you can sign in while traveling.
  • You may have one account, for yourself. Please give a real email address you control.
  • You sign in with codes sent to your email, so keeping your email account secure keeps your app account secure. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. An early version

The app is in early testing. Features may change, pause or be removed, and things may not always work as expected. We work to protect your information, but we can't promise the app will be available at all times or free of errors. Please keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

4. The journey guide is an AI

  • The journey guide, and some other features, use artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic. Its replies are generated automatically and can be incomplete, inaccurate or not right for you.
  • The app is a tool for reflection and planning. It is not therapy, counseling, or medical, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it doesn't create any professional relationship. Use your own judgment, and talk to a qualified professional about decisions that matter.
  • If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the US) or call 911. The app can't respond to emergencies.

5. Your content

  • "Your content" means what you put into the app: your Whys, Ticks, Core Values, Code, goals, milestones, projects, ratings, guide conversations, Talk messages and feedback. You keep ownership of it.
  • You give us permission to store, process, copy and display your content only as needed to run the app for you (for example, showing your Whys to you, sending guide messages to our AI provider, or delivering your Talk messages), to keep the app safe, and in any further ways you choose in the app, such as "Help the guide get better" or "Help shape The Point." This permission ends when your content is deleted, except as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to share it.
  • If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve The Point without owing you anything.

6. Talk and other members

When you join Talk, you agree to the Talk guidelines. In particular, you agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, insult or bully anyone;
  • post hateful, sexual or explicit content;
  • sell, advertise, recruit, or ask for money;
  • share someone else's private information, or pretend to be someone else, including The Point's staff;
  • try to find where someone is, or misuse Near Me in any way.

Messages are checked by an automated safety system before they're delivered, and some messages may be blocked. That check is not perfect. Other members are responsible for what they say, and we don't endorse or verify anything members tell you, including who they are. You can report or block anyone at any time, and we review reports. We may hide messages and remove anyone from Talk or the app for breaking these Terms or to keep people safe.

Be careful about meeting in person. If you choose to meet someone you met in the app, meet in a public place, tell someone you trust, and use your own judgment. The Point is not responsible for meetings or dealings between members.

7. Using the app fairly

Please don't:

  • use the app for anything illegal or harmful;
  • try to get into accounts, data or systems you're not allowed to;
  • copy, scrape or collect information from the app with automated tools;
  • interfere with the app, overload it, or try to get around its limits or safety checks;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows.

The app, its design, questions, text and branding belong to The Point Collective, LLC or our licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app while you follow them.

8. Other services

Some features connect to services we don't control, such as Google Calendar or your calendar app when you subscribe to your calendar link. Those services have their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

9. Plans and payments

  • Free and the full journey. The free plan includes your Tick for all eight Life Elements, one Why, the first round of Core Values, the first line of your Code, My Goals, Base Camp and Talk. The full journey adds a Why for every Life Element, the rest of Core Values, your complete Code and the Purpose journey. What each plan includes is shown on the My Plan page and may change over time; if we take something away from a plan you've paid for, we'll tell you first.
  • Price and billing. The full journey costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, plus any sales tax that applies where you live. You pay at the start of each period. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
  • Automatic renewal. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price then in effect, and your payment method is charged unless you cancel before the renewal date. We'll give you notice before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel any time in My Plan, under Manage my plan. You keep the full journey until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your account returns to Free. Nothing you've written is deleted when your plan ends.
  • 14-day refund on your first purchase. If the full journey isn't right for you, email us at journeyguide@thepointventure.com within 14 days of your first purchase and we'll refund that payment in full. After that, and for renewals, payments aren't refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires it.
  • Codes. A code, such as one included with The Point book or given as a gift, unlocks the full journey for the number of months it states. Codes can't be exchanged for cash, can be used once per person, and don't renew on their own. When a code's time ends, your account returns to Free unless you choose a paid plan.
  • Purchases through Apple. If you subscribe through the App Store, Apple handles your billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds under its own terms, and you manage that subscription in your Apple account settings.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will try again for a short time. If it still can't be collected, your account returns to Free.

10. Ending your use

  • You can stop using the app at any time, and you can delete your account in My Account.
  • If you delete your account, any paid plan is cancelled and won't renew.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we need to for legal or safety reasons, or if we stop offering the app. When we can, we'll give notice.
  • Sections 4, 5 (feedback), 11, 12, 13 and 14 still apply after your account ends.

11. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the app will meet your needs, be accurate, be uninterrupted or secure, or be free of errors, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places don't allow these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

12. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, The Point Collective, LLC and its owners, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app, from AI-generated content, or from other members' conduct. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

13. Your responsibility

If you break these Terms or the law, or your content harms someone, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these Terms or the app will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll ask you to review and agree again in the app. If you don't agree to updated Terms, please stop using the app and delete your account.

16. Everything else

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If a part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to later. You can't transfer these Terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the app.
